Book review – my favourite guide to kids ADHD
An elegant, compact and empathetic book written by Martin Kutscher, a paediatric neurologist. Kutscher really manages to capture what is is to “be ADHD” very effectively. Though focussed on childhood, this book is insightful and informative for ADHD adults as well a children.
Kutscher describes the spectrum of ADHD, the symptoms and common difficulties that parents face. He focuses on solutions, based around four rules: keeping it positive, keeping it calm, keeping it organized and keep doing rules one to three!
This book is engaging, realistic and optimistic and the perfect source of information and advice for parents, teachers and other professionals who are trying to keep up with children who are “living without brakes”. The practical parenting and educational strategies are excellent and helpful. One on my top three for parents.
