With ADHD, perhaps because of our busy minds and low self-esteem, we seldom seem to reflect on what we have accomplished or done well. Quite often there are things that we do extraordinarily well, much more effectively, competently, creatively and intuitively than other people.
So learn to start paying attention to your accomplishments and strengths, review the day on you own or with a partner/friend and acknowledge your achievements, you may be surprised by what you have done. Perhaps you wrote a great email to your boss, cooked a great meal, read to your child, helped a colleague understand something, even did this Three Pats exercise one week running!
Doesn’t matter, be pleased with yourself for a change and go ahead give yourself a “pat on the back”!
