SimplyWellbeing for ADD / ADHD

Health, Happiness and Wellbeing

Simplywellbeing is dedicated to helping adults and children living with ADD and ADHD find Health, Happiness and Wellbeing. For everyone, whether ADD or not, achieving these aims involves a complex interplay of many factors from physical health to attitude, beliefs, diet, sleep, exercise, stress, activities and even dreams and goals.

ADD People are Sensitive!

For people with ADD, these factors have an even more profound effect; our ADD genetic inheritance means that our neurochemistry and often our physiology differ from the norm. Sleep, diet, exercise, attitude and of course ADD supplements and medications can have a particularly strong impact on our health and wellbeing. People with ADD often:

  • Are more sensitivite and allergic to the foods they eat
  • Have vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • Struggle with sleep issues
  • Do not exercise sufficiently to help their symptoms
  • Are more easily addictioned to drugs, foods, activities...
  • Find it difficult to regulate emotions
  • Have low self-esteem after a life-time of criticism
  • Are at high risk of depression/anxiety issues
  • Struggle to effect deeply wished for life style changes
  • Fail to fulfil their dreams or goals

Big-picture Health

But don't panic! The good news is that quick and even profound changes are possible. At Simplywellbeing we will review with you all these aspects of your life. Your ADHD Coach may recommend simple happiness techniques from the new science of Positive Psychology, discuss supplements that produce and support vital neuro-transmitters, plan effective sleep regimes, improve your diet to help your immune system and energy, investigate foods to avoid those causing you problems and help you incorporate more healthy activity into each day. We know from personal experience that a focus on health and wellbeing can completely turn around the lives of people with ADD.

At Simplywellbeing we share our understanding of the fields of ADD Genetics and Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, Nutrition, Sleep science, Health and Immune system. We work with a number of specialists in health, from Exercise Physiotherapists, Nutritional/Naturopath Specialists, Psychotherapists, Psychiatrists, Mediation Trainers and Health Experts. In our workshops and in coaching sessions we keep the “big picture of health" and wellbeing at the forefront of all we do and discuss.

Three Blessings

The relatively new science of happiness, Positive Psychology, offers much insight into what really works to improve our sense of wellbeing. One of the simplest and most effective techniques is called the Three Blessings. This simple practise, if carried out consistently for just a few weeks can make a marked difference to feelings of happiness, even for the very depressed. Before bed each night either write, text or say out loud three "thank you's", for things that have happened during the day. Silly and small or profound and important it doesn't matter. It could be thanks for the sunny day, meeting your friend or getting the new job. Its quick, easy and effective try it!
