Twenty Twenty TVHelp for hoarding on Channel4

Twenty Twenty Television are the award winning makers of "The Choir" and "Garrow's Law". We are making a documentary series about hoarding and looking for sufferers to get in touch.

We have been commissioned by Channel4 to make a four part documentary series, telling the untold story of what it’s like to suffer from Hoarding. Our series will take a very therapeutic approach, following a group of carefully cast sufferers on a unique treatment programme: a combination of group therapy, one-on-one treatments, and specialist de-cluttering services. We want to show how Hoarding affects real lives, and to explore the complexities and extent of this often misunderstood illness.

We are now looking for people to take part in the television series. We understand how important trust is when it comes to sharing your story, and that it is often extremely difficult for people who hoard to open up their homes – but we hope that by bringing together a therapeutic approach, with support from specialist cleaning teams, we might start you on a road to recovery.

We are not offering a cure, but what we are offering is an intensive, personalised course of treatment with an aim to improve hoarding behaviour. We’re keen to speak to people who work full or part time, care for a family, are married or in a relationship, who have an active social life, but who also hoard. Maybe you hold down a full-time job but keep your illness a secret from colleagues and friends; or maybe you’re living with a hoarding partner and don’t know what to do.

If you think you could help highlight the reality of life for sufferers, or you’d just like to find more out about the project, we’d love to hear from you.

BBCBBC Learning Zone

ORTV are an independent production company making an exciting programme for the BBC Learning Zone about 13 to 18 year olds’ wellbeing. It is a version of radio 1’s ’The Surgery’ with Aled Haydn Jones where young people call in to discuss health concerns they have. We are looking for young people to talk to us about their experiences of a range of issues that they are facing, including the much misunderstood ADHD and ADD. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in talking to me, in confidence, about their experiences?

Please email Hannah Lewis at hannah.lewis[]ortv.co.uk

Many thanks, Hannah.

Kings College LondonOmega-3 Research Project in ADHD

  • Does you son have inattentive, impulsive and/or hyperactive behaviour?
  • Is he aged between 12 and 16 years of age?
  • Would he be interested in taking part in a scientific research project?

Kings College London has been studying the relationship between omega-3 fatty acids and brain function with Professor Eric Taylor since 2006. Research suggests that children and young adults with symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) which include inattentive, impulsive and/or hyperactive type behaviours have low levels of fatty acids and we would like to investigate this further by:

  1. asking children with an official diagnosis of ADHD to come for a blood test with their non-affected sibling(s). This is so we can compare the enzyme activity of specific genes which assist the absorption of essential fatty acids into red blood cells (the delta 5 and delta 6 desaturase genes) and
  2. complete some questionnaires about their diet and behaviour.

We have full NHS ethical approval and the children / adolescents are of course free to withdraw at any time. Participants will be compensated for their time and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Please contact Rachel Gow on 020 7848 0475 or Rachel.gow[]kcl.ac.uk (Ethics Code 08/H0722/88)

We look forward to hearing from you!
