Getting past the labels

Once we get past the fear of a label, there is a lot of benefit in knowing and accepting our ADHD, much better than a life in denial or misunderstanding, My life would have been very different had I known about my ADD from an early age: I might have understood how to overcome many challenges, avoided problems, heart-aches and impacted self belief. Books are a great way to share and discuss ADD with your parents. Understanding can make a significant difference.

A Bird's-Eye View of Life with ADD and ADHD: Advice from young survivors

Chris A. Zeigler Dendy & Alex Zeigler

Chris Dendy wrote this book, with help from her ADD son, to help kids with ADD deal with life. The book illustrates many point through the stories and advice of twelve young adults (aged 12 to 18, photos are included) and their struggles with ADD/ADHD issues. Dendy a former teacher and mental health counsellor, then looks at potential life issues: schools, medication and friendships.
