Times Newspaper - Positive Adult ADHD Article

Wed, 07/04/2010 - 1:07am |  Andrew Lewis

Times OnlineTimes Newspaper article - Do you have Adult ADHD?

In the Times Newspaper 6th April 2010, Body & Soul Section, there is a great article about Adult ADHD. Helen Croydon, the freelance journalist who wrote the piece, attended the SimplyWellbeing Understanding, Accepting and Embracing your ADDworkshop in London on 27th March. Helen gives a very positive perspective on ADHD, quotes me and mentions our workshop. The article is viewable online, just click the link here: Times Online - "Do you have adult ADHD?

The article starts with Helen exploring why she is so often late, "Last month I missed two flights in the space of 18 hours". After an informal ADHD diagnosis, further research and a visit to the workshop, she concludes: "ADHD strikes me not as a disorder but as a creative personality type. I would never want to take medication but I would want to understand it. I use the tips from Andrew's classes and have started weekly meditation to slow my mind. If I can learn to channel the creative chaos in my head into productivity, then missing those two flights could be the most valuable learning experience I have had."

Let's hope we continue to see more constructive articles like this in the future, thanks Helen.
