ADHD Coaching - Steps to SimplyWellbeing

Understanding, Accepting and Embracing your ADD

At SimplyWellbeing our coaching process works through a number of steps from seeing ADD as a problem to seeing it as a strength and asset in your life. From understanding the neurology and effects of medications, to accepting that some areas in life may remain challenging to embracing (and sometimes discovering) the special ADD strengths that you have - we are on a journey together. The end destination of this journey is to he happier, healthier and more connected with yourself, your goals and dreams - SimplyWellbeing.

Understanding your ADD

A person with ADD, AD/HD needs to become thoroughly informed about how ADD works in general, and how ADD affects their life. Understanding neuro-chemicals, frontal lobes and executive functions will make sense of many of your frustrations!  ADHD Coaching will also help you learn to observe “what you pay attention to”. As you understand you own inner workings and behaviour, you will become more attuned about what does and doesn't work for you. This will help us to develop strategies together to help you reach your goals.

Accepting your ADD

As you become more informed about your ADD traits, you will start to develop innate knowledge about yourself. This means accepting that some tasks are harder for you than other people, so rather than beating yourself up about your failings, we will focus on strategies and systems to circumvent or overcome your challenges. With growing knowledge about your own strengths and new strategies to overcome old ADD challenges, you will develop deeper confidence to succeed.

Embracing your ADD

ADDers are often exceptionally creative, sensitive and intuitive but may not have learned to trust their own wisdom. As your self-knowledge and understanding grows, you will trust your judgement and instinctively know how to use your own uniqueness to succeed at your goals. In each coaching session, you will decide on actions to be taken before the next session. These actions may involve keeping track of tendencies, trying a new behaviour, or taking a step towards a major life breakthrough. When you find you aren't following through on action steps, we'll determine what distracted you and modify the strategy.

SimplyWellbeing for ADD

Individuals with ADD are often critically impacted by their health, behaviour and habits. Sleep, diet, exercise, attitude and of course ADD supplements and medications can have an immense impact on health, happiness and wellbeing. Positive Psychology, supplements that produce vital neuro-transmitters, effective sleep regimes, improved diet for immune system and energy, avoiding foods that cause problems, incorporating more healthy activity into your day are all worth consideration. I am not medically qualified, so will only suggest areas for you to explore further (perhaps with medical help) but I have successfully improved my wellbeing in many areas and believe you can too.
